ETA: if you still want to be able to access this blog, please save the address of rachiesplace.typepad.com as my old domain will be cancelled today and the original link may be broken.
also, if you are adding me as a contact via flickr, please do so here. i am going to transfer my old photos and (hopefully) contacts over to rachel mason photography. unfortunately, i cannot change my url in flickr, so i am just starting over (i didn't have that many photos uploaded anyway). i know, pretty ocd, right?
the past few months have been overwhelming and stressful. i have stretched myself so thin that i am not doing any one thing really well. that includes taking care of myself. so instead of feeling sorry for myself any longer, i am making some big changes.
i started by asking myself...what is it that i want out of life? my answer is simple. i don't want to look back and have any regrets. i want to do what i enjoy and do it well. i want to devote my spare time to enriching my life and loving my family 100%. i want to work hard and contribute as much as possible to a secure future.
so after 4 years, rachie's place will be shutting down (by this weekend). i am not renewing my blog or domain name. i think you will still be able to access all old posts. i am also going to delete my fan page on facebook.
but i am not disappearing completely! i am going to continue to pursue my photography and hopefully turn it into a successful little business! i am also going to work more hours at my veterinary clinic in order to pay for equipment, a website, advertising, etc., so please wish me luck!
i am also permanently closing my etsy shop. i will be having a big garage sale at my home in the waldo/brookside area of kansas city on saturday, september 18th (8 am until we are exhausted!). i will be selling lots of goodies including most of my vintage shop items! if you are interested, please email me at rachiesplace[at]hotmail[dot]com for more info including the address.
so many changes! i am excited and feel a huge weight lifted from my shoulders. i will still scrapbook, but it will be for my own enjoyment. i will still thrift, but it too, will be for me or my home.
i do want to still keep in touch so please friend me on facebook, add me as a contact on flickr, or take a peek at my tumblr page (a much easier and cheaper way to blog!). when my new website is installed and presentable, i will announce it on my personal facebook page, through flickr, or via tumblr.
thank you to all that have followed me through the years, left those much appreciated comments, and who have felt inspired by my posts, no matter how sporadic or silly they may have been.
cheers!

Wow! I will miss your blog but I am excited for you! I look forward to reading about your new journey on facebook... and talking to you, of course.
